It’s that time of year—as we head inside for winter,
we may need to protect ourselves from the ‘bugs’ that often join us. Vaccines are one of our most effective ways to prevent disease.

Protect yourself from COVID-19, Flu, and RSV
CDC Vaccine Recommendations
It is common to get sick from
respiratory viruses such as COVID-19, flu, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), especially in the fall and winter. There are actions you can take to protect yourself and others.
- COVID-19 can be very contagious and spreads quickly. Most people with COVID-19 have mild symptoms, but some people become severely ill.
- Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs.
CDC recommends that everyone over age 6 months get both a Covid-19 and Flu vaccine this fall.
- RSV usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for babies and older adults. CDC recommends that adults 60+ may receive a single dose of RSV. Talk with your healthcare provider to determine if RSV vaccination will be beneficial for you.
