President Willie-LeBreton
Northampton Neighbors Speaker Series
Conversation with Dr. Sarah Willie-LeBreton, President, Smith College
Friday, February 7, 2025
2 – 3 pm
Online only

Please join us on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2 pm for a fascinating conversation with Dr. Sarah Willie-LeBreton, the 12 th president of Smith College. An accomplished and dedicated scholar, educator, and leader, she has a demonstrated record of addressing social inequality and fostering community. At a time when women’s education has become increasingly crucial for challenging the world’s problems and injustices, Willie-LeBreton is guiding Smith through its next chapter.

Dr. Sarah Willie-LeBreton will join Northampton Neighbors as part of our Speakers Series on February 7. While the youth population of the college campus and the older population of Northampton Neighbors may appear separate, they are not. We are one community being impacted by many of the same issues. President Sarah will share from her unique perspective as a sociologist and local college leader on matters that connect us all. She welcomes your insights and concerns as we host this important conversation.

About the Series

Northampton Neighbors Speaker Series began in October 2018, featuring lively and engaging speakers on a wide range of topics.

Since the series’ inception, we’ve enjoyed talks by  well-known novelists, photographers and visionaries, a library director and political scientist, a physician, nurse, and COVID researcher, among many others. We’ve enjoyed an eclectic and entertaining mix of presentations: Sex and jazz, white collar crime and incarceration, climate change and sports, memory and home modification are but a few of our topics.

We are guided by a commitment to present topics of particular interest to older people and those intended for a broader audience. All speaker events are free and open to all. NN also offers live transcription so you can read along with the spoken word during Zoom presentations. The series is popular and fun.
